(Updated Aug. 11 2008) Many authors have been unable to attend the ATA convention, and are eagerly awaiting their copies of the souvenir to read and share with friends. The Editorial committee apologizes for the delay. To partially rectify this deficiency, we are posting the literary sections of the souvenir to this website. (Updated Aug. 5 2008) Dear Prize Winners, It is now about a month since the ATA conference, and you may be wondering (some of you loudly!) at the delay in sending you the prize checks. The Editorial committee apologizes for this delay. As you know, after an event of this magnitude, it takes time for the paperwork to catch up. The ATA finance committees are hard at work processing all the payment requests, and we can only wait for the checks to be issued. Our plan is to send a Certificate, a copy of the Souvenir (to those who did not attend the event) and the prize money check, all together in one envelope to the address we have. Unfortunately, I do not have the addresses for some of the participants. If you haven't already done so, please send us an email at sreenadh@ata2008souvenir.info with your full mailing address. The full list of winners has been on our website at http://www.ata2008souvenir.info for about six weeks now. Congratulations to the WinnersThe souvenir committee thanks all the authors for their enthusiasm and dedication in submitting hundreds of articles for the publication in the 2008 Souvenir. We wish we had enough room to publish everything we received, but that is clearly impossible. We had many ups and downs during this journey, but the most tragic loss was the untimely passing away of our committee member Dr.Bhargavi Rao garu on May 23, 2008. We wish she was here to see the fruits of her hard work. We would like to thank Smt. Kondaveeti Satyavathi garu, Smt. Sheela Veeraraju garu, Smt. Sarada Sreenivas garu and Smt. Gayathri garu for their assistance in ranking the articles submitted. However, we the Editors had the unique pleasure of making the final selection for publication, and accept full responsibility for this. We tried to stay as close as possible to our original intent of selecting good stories of a certain type. In some categories, we did not award all the prizes posted as there were no suitable entries. We explain some of our reasoning in the editorials in the printed edition Please note that the Editors' decision is final. We hope you will respect this. I would like to request all the winners to please send us an email at sreenadh@ata2008souvenir.info with their full mailing address for sending the checks.
